Tonight On BPR
Thursday night means another new episode of Project Runway and after last week's debacle we once again have to prepare for a trip in the way-back machine. Tonight's episode is titles "Sew '70s" and our final 7 designers will use that incredibly fashion forward decade as inspiration for their designs.
This can't be good, can it? We'll be on hand to watch it all go down and invite you to join us for some campy fun:
- Tbone and suzq, who both lived through and survived the '70s, will be hosting our weekly play by play and party room. This episode has major train wreck potential and we'll be sitting right next to the tracks commenting on all the carnage. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.
- After the show, share your thoughts on the ins and aufs in our reactions thread, posted immediately after Heidi kisses another designer auf wiedersehen. This is where you can let it all hang out.
See you tonight on BPR!

BPR Interview with Project Runway All-Star Designer Michael Costello
All-Star designer Michael Costello talks about the All-Star season, his impressions of season 9, Portland Fashion Week, and a new project he is working on for Google and eHow.
A highlight: Michael will be presenting a 28-piece "extended resort" collection for Portland Fashion Week on October 8th.
Other Project Runway designers showing at PFW include Seth Aaron Henderson, Jay Nicolas Sario, Becky Ross and Bryce Black.

Thank you Michael!
Update: We now have a transcript of the interview - thank you Janice!
News From Mondo Guerra
Click here for a new interview with Mondo Guerra from A&U Magazine.
A highlight: Up next, Mondo will compete on the new Project Runway All-Stars, which is thrilling news for his fans, and a tantalizing opportunity for Mondo to show off his talent without being burdened by the emotional or physical baggage that he dealt with last year. (The show’s industry roster will be new, as well: model Angela Lindvall will host, Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman will judge, and Joanna Coles, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire, will mentor.)
“It’s hard to find enough energy to get through the day,” he says, “And I’ll have to hit the ground running. Everyone who has been cast has been through it before, and we’re all going to have our A game. We all want to win.”
Other contestants include Austin Scarlett, “Sweet P” Vaughn, Kenley Collins, and Michael Costello. It’s no surprise that Mondo was cast—his name came up in practically every news bite about possible All-Stars contestants—and he’s trying not to feel the pressure of being a likely fan favorite. But he’s grateful, and ready to work hard for another chance to be the top designer. The way he handled his Season Eight loss with such grace is part of what fuels his popularity; he’s proof that even in an industry as cutthroat as fashion design, you don’t have to be mean or smug to succeed. “I feel like if you’re doing something you love, and you’re producing, you have to go into it with a positive attitude. I think people are more receptive when you’re kind. Live your life with a positive outlook.”

Tonight On BPR
Photo: thesheepdogs.com
Last week on Project Runway, our designers were struck with the fear of creating (shudder) menswear only to be relieved by Tim's girlfriend switch-a-roo trick. This week we go from real, live women to real, live men. And we mean hairy, rocker type men!
Meet The Sheepdogs, subjects of this week's challenge on Project Runway. And if designing rock star duds isn't enough, the producers have once again dialed up another team challenge. Previous attempts at manipulating drama out of this crew have mostly fallen flat - is the 4th time a charm?
Team BPR will be rockin' the night away:
- Join suzq and Tbone for our live play by play and party room beginning at 8:30 p.m. We'll be grooving along with Runway fans from across the land as we watch Episode 9 together.
- After the show, share your thoughts about the ins and aufs in our weekly reactions thread. It's always a lively discussion!
With only eight designers remaining, the tension and drama should be high. Lets hope the designs live up to the music. See you tonight on BPR!

Malan Breton "Fantome" Field Report
Project Runway Season 3 designer, Malan Breton presented his Spring 2012 collection, "Fantome" on September 13th. Mark Yonskie sends us this report - thanks Mark!
Greetings BPR,
It was my pleasure to attend Malan's show, Fantome, last week in The Studio in Lincoln Center. I had an excellent vantage point to see the models as they stepped on to the runway. Malan's fans will be happy to know that his smile is wider and his hair higher than ever. It was a delight to see him take his bow at the end with everyone's favorite Project Runway model, Amanda Fields, on his arm; he looked very happy.
Malan put on a great show. Fashion for girls, fashion for boys, a ballerina, a wedding gown, Ronnie Kroell from "Make Me a Supermodel" and a couple of Real Housewives from New York City thrown in just for fun.
